Turtle Point Press Gallery

Turtle Point Press, one of America's finest and smallest independent literary presses began its gallery in 2009. Turtle Point hosts exhibits of art works related to poetry, the book and the written word. The shows take place in Room 946, the tiniest office in the landmark Woolworth Building.

In 2009 Turtle Point Press featured the work of Duncan Hannah, Alejandro Cesarco, Trevor Winkfield, Gregory Botts, Elaine Equi, Star Black and Jeff Clark.

Schedule for Spring, 2010:

On January 13, 6 to 8 pm poet Thomas Evans's show of upholstered emblemata entitled Armchair Emblems, Prosthetic Mottos and Walking Definitions will open and continue until February 15.

Opening February 17, 6 to 8pm Sarah Plimpton's prints and artist books will be on display in a show of the same name. Ms Plimpton is a poet, novelist and artist. Her works are in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Bienecke Rare Book Library and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Opening March 31, 6 to 8 pm, Bruce Weber will show his recent collages. Bruce Weber, curator of 19th Century Art at the National Academy of Design is a poet and author of four books of poetry. His poems have been featured in the Downtown Poets Anthology.
