Richard Howard (Translator)
Richard Howard (1929-2022) was a translator and author. Aside from a Pulitzer Prize (1970) for his work Untitled Subjects, Howard was a recipient of the the PEN Translation Prize (1976) for his work with E.M. Cioran’s A Short History of Decay and the National Book Award (1984) for translating Les Fleurs du Mal by Baudelaire.
